Introduction of Serial to TCPIP Converter

USR-N510 is an Industrial Serial RS232 RS422 RS485 to Ethernet TCP/IP Converter for data transparent transmission. It is internally integrated with TCP/IP protocol. It adopts Cortex-M4 solution and its basic frequency is up to 120MHz. USR-N510 serial to Ethernet converters / Adapters is easy to use. User can configure parameter by a standard web browser or USR setup software to realize remote data acquisition, remote control and management. This high performance networking serial to TCPIP server enables engineers spend little time to add networking function to products.


USR-N510 is a compact RS232 / RS485 / RS422 to Ethernet server for remote access serial electronic devices. By connecting USR-N510 to serial based equipment, user can easily offer Ethernet networking capability as a standard feature. So equipment can be accessed and controlled over the Internet network. USR-N510 is a one port serial server, which supports RS-232 or RS-485 or RS-422 working at the same time.


This serial to Ethernet converter have 16 KByte receive/sending buffer of network and 2 KByte receive/sending buffer of serial, which makes the communication more stable and safe. For hardware protection, the serial device server has 8KV ESD protction and 4KV surge protection. CE(EMC+LVD), FCC, RoHS, and WEEE compliant.

Working Modes of Serial Device Server

Serial Device Server N510 can work as TCP Client, TCP Server, UDP Client,UDP Server Mode.

1) In TCP Client Mode: Client connects Server automatically. User should configure the TCP Server’s IP address and Port.
2) In TCP Server Mode: The Max Client number is 8.
3) In UDP Client Mode: serial data will be sent to a fix IP address/port which you appointed.
4) In UDP Server Mode: serial data will be sent to last source IP/Port.
